Nicolas Chabot, new head coach of the Marseillaises

Olympique de Marseille is delighted to announce the appointment of Nicolas Chabot as head coach of the Marseillaises.

A young 31-year-old coach recognised for his high standards and ambitious vision of the game, Nicolas Chabot has established himself over recent seasons as one of the most promising coaches in French women's football. Having joined FC Nantes within the academy setup, where he successively managed several men's and women's age groups before taking charge of the first team in 2023, the Vendée-born tactician gradually worked his way up to the highest level.

In charge of the Nantes women's side, he notably guided the club to promotion to the first division in his very first season, before leading them to the best finish in their history with a 4th-place finish in the most recent league campaign. The quality of his work and the journey achieved under his leadership were recognised with the Arkema Première Ligue Best Coach award.

Contracted until June 2029, he will be joined by his coaching staff as they open a new chapter in the Marseillaises' project.

His arrival signals a new momentum, with the objective of continuing to build the project's foundations and asserting the club's ambitions at the highest level.

Stefano Petruzzo and Nicolas Chabot

Nicolas Chabot, Marseillaises head coach: "Joining Olympique de Marseille is a great source of pride. I was won over by the vision behind the Marseillaises and by the club's determination to build a sustainable and ambitious project, with genuine attention paid to the human side and to infrastructure development. The opportunity to build, alongside my staff, a strong identity in line with our values was also a key factor in my decision. I am delighted to commit to this high-potential project, driven by the exceptional enthusiasm of its supporters, and I cannot wait to begin this new adventure."

Stefano Petruzzo, Marseillaises General Manager: "Nicolas Chabot is the perfect embodiment of the identity and ambitions we wish to give the Marseillaises. At just 31 years old, he has already demonstrated outstanding human and sporting qualities, as well as an ability to build ambitious and attractive playing sides. The work accomplished over recent seasons, rewarded with the Arkema Première Ligue Best Coach award, is a testament to his potential and his ability to support the project's growth. We are absolutely delighted to welcome him to Olympique de Marseille as we continue to develop the Marseillaises together."
