Olympique de Marseille are delighted to announce the signing of Nelly Da Cruz Rodrigues for the club’s women’s team.
Portugal international Nelly Da Cruz Rodrigues joins the Marseillaises at the age of 23, bringing her versatility and work rate to strengthen Olympique de Marseille’s defensive unit. Comfortable across every position in defence, she adds a complete profile and outstanding football intelligence to the squad.
Developed in the Paris Saint-Germain academy, Nelly Da Cruz Rodrigues enjoyed her first full professional season with Olympique de Marseille in 2022. She joined FC Nantes in the summer of 2023, helping the club secure promotion to the Arkema Première Ligue during the 2023–24 campaign. A true utility player, she provided her coach with a wealth of tactical options thanks to her versatility, while proving a difficult opponent for rival teams to prepare for. Under then-head coach Nicolas Chabot, she featured in every top-flight match during the 2025–26 season, helping Nantes reach the play-offs.
An intelligent defender, Nelly Da Cruz Rodrigues is equally comfortable playing centrally or out wide. She stands out for her impressive work rate, technical quality and strength in one-on-one situations. Reliable both in and out of possession, she brings composure to her team and has the ability to adapt seamlessly to different tactical systems.
