Carina Baltrip-Reyes joins Les Marseillaises

Olympique de Marseille is delighted to announce the arrival of Carina Baltrip-Reyes to its women's team.

A Panamanian international, the 27-year-old central defender joins the Marseille women's team. A member of the Panama national team for several seasons, she notably took part in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, the first-ever World Cup finals appearance for her country.

Born in Austin, Texas, Carina Baltrip-Reyes completed her development in the United States before discovering European football with Spartak Subotica in Serbia. Following a notable spell in Portugal with CS Marítimo, she joined SS Lazio in the summer of 2023. At the Roman club, she quickly established herself as a key player in the squad and was even handed the captain's armband, thanks to her leadership, combativeness and defensive impact.

An athletic and powerful defender, Carina Baltrip-Reyes stands out for her dominance in duels, her ability to defend forward and her effectiveness in the aerial game. Solid in one-on-one situations, she is recognised for her constant commitment and her ability to step up in important moments.

With her experience at the highest levels of European and international football, her physical impact and her ability to win defensive duels, Carina Baltrip-Reyes will bring solidity, presence and consistency to the Marseille backline. Her profile complements the qualities of the Marseille squad and represents an outstanding addition in line with the club's ambitions.
